Synnhaven is the creative alias of Nick Garcia, whose past career under his own name earned him accolades in the pre-pandemic house scene and opening duties for respected names like Bonobo, SOPHIE, Jacques Greene, and Matthew Dear. Following an extended hiatus, Nick conceived Synnhaven as a means to reframe his relationship with art in the social media age and explore a longtime love for deeper, atmospheric sounds. Nick accompanies the sonic journey with images captured on his vintage Leica, a beloved family heirloom passed down from his great-grandfather.

The inspiration for Synnhaven is found in the deep and minimal house of the early 2000’s, along with film scores, ambient music, dub techno and bands like Sigur Rós. The music is anchored in immersive bass, lush synths, and endlessly manipulated samples, all steeped in layers of reverb, echo, and saturation. While primarily club-focused, the music to come also explores ambient and downtempo territory. The result is a multi-dimensional project unconstrained by genre limitations, its musical and photographic elements informing each other in aesthetic cross-pollination.
